AT&T today unveiled the Motorola Tundra VA76r, a rugged 3G clamshell with a tough exterior that can withstand harsh environments.
Designed to withstand harsh weather conditions, the Tundra meeting US 810F Military Specifications (MIL) for drop, dust, vibration, humidity, severe temperatures and rain.
"On the surface, the Tundra looks like a nearly indestructible phone for contractors, landscapers and other tough work environments," said Jeff Bradley, Senior Vice President of AT&T. "But it's also an attractive phone for a wide variety of consumers who are rough on their phones."
It has Motorola's CrystalTalk Plus with dual microphone technology to enhance conversation clarity in the noisiest environments. With PTT technology, users can connect to a single person or an entire team. The Tundra has workforce management features such as voice activation, phone book locking for call restrictions, a rugged antenna and keys that can be easily pressed while wearing gloves.
The Tundra has AT&T Navigator for advanced turn-by-turn directions with optional services such as TeleNav Track and Xora Mobile Workforce Management tools.
The integrated 2.0-megapixel camera snaps and shares still images. It has 100MB of available memory, up to 4GB of optional removable memory, and it can be paired with Bluetooth accessories.
The Motorola Tundra will be available for $199.99 after a $50 mail-in-rebate with a two-year contract in stores and online on January 13.
