Verizon Wireless today added two new prepaid calling plans for customers who don't want the commitment of a long-term contract.
The new Prepaid Unlimited Talk plan is for heavy users. Customers can have unlimited calling for $4 a day, charged only on the days calls are made and received. Text messages will cost $0.01 per message sent and received. The Prepaid Basic plan is for infrequent users. Customers will pay $0.25 per minute of talk and $0.20 per text message sent and received, with no daily access fee. "Customers can select the plan, the text messaging feature and match it with just about any Verizon Wireless phone," said Jeffrey Dietel, Vice President of Marketing Operations for Verizon Wireless. "Essentially, they are designing the service that works best for them and their wireless budgets." Verizon Wireless is a joint venture of New York-based Verizon and Vodafone Group of Britain.
