AT&T, the largest telecommunications company in the country, today unveiled the Pantech Matrix Pro, a dual-sliding double-keyboard smartphone running on Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.1.
Successor to the Matrix released late last year, the new Matrix Pro is updated with a larger, more colorful screen, an upgraded 2.0-megapixel camera, more memory and a faster processor. To stay compact, the handset has unique double-sliding keyboards -- a QWERTY keyboard to type emails and a numeric pad to dial calls. Running on Windows Mobile 6.1, the smartphone supports threaded chat-style text messaging, corporate and personal email and AT&T services such as MobiTV, Napster Mobile, eMusic Mobile, AT&T Mobile Banking and CV on-demand video. "The Matrix Pro is a significant evolution in this dual-sliding family of phones," said Michael Woodward, Vice President of Smart Devices for AT&T Mobility. "The Matrix Pro will appeal to anyone who wants a powerful smartphone with a great design." The Matrix Pro will be available starting Feb. 24 for $180 after a two-year service agreement and a $50 mail-in rebate. - Pantech Matrix Pro Specs
