NTT DoCoMo, Japan's largest mobile phone carrier, said it has halted sales of the BlackBerry Bold due to complaints of overheating while being charged.
The company said it has sold about 4,000 units of the Bold smartphone, and about 30 users have complained that the keyboard area had heated up.
DoCoMo added that it has received no reports of users getting burned or of phones catching on fire.
AT&T, which sells the Bold in the United States, has not announced any problems.
