At the annual CTIA wireless show in Las Vegas today, Motorola introduced the Evoke QA4, a socially-inclined handset with a 2.8-inch touch screen that supports different messaging styles.
The Schaumburg, Ill.-based company said the Evoke has a touch screen QWERTY keyboard with a slide-out traditional keypad.
Equipped with an accelerometer, the handset can be turned on its side to reveal a QWERTY keyboard for easy texting.
Home screen messaging icons, predictive text and IM-style messaging make it easy to follow the back-and-forth of multiple conversations.
The Evoke also has noise reduction technology to help lower background noise on phone calls.
Integrated widgets can access real-time information, social networking sites, and personalized RSS feeds from the Web such as weather, sports scores, stock reports, news headlines and more.
Fast Web connectivity lets users publish photos and clips onto blogs and sharing sites.
Built-in integration with MySpace also lets users keep close tabs on friends and post instant updates to their profile in one easy step.
"We understand the importance of having a mobile phone that helps you stay connected simply and seamlessly with your friends and family, whether you prefer to talk, text or network," said Mark Shockley, Corporate Vice President of Motorola. "Motorola Evoke offers the cutting-edge convenience and instant gratification of a full touch-screen, intuitive online browsing and the ability to stay plugged in on your terms."
The Motorola Evoke QA4 will be available in Q2 2009.
