The Taiwan-based company said the Snap has a new feature called "Inner Circle" that prioritizes emails based on a user's preferences.
At the press of a button, the handset will bring emails from a preselected group of contacts to the top of the inbox -- so users can read and reply to them easily.
The slim smartphone has an ergonomic keyboard with extra-large domed keys and tactile feedback for more comfortable typing. Beyond messaging, the Snap runs Windows Mobile 6.1 and will come with integrated Wi-Fi, high-speed HSDPA Internet, Bluetooth, GPS, a microSD expansion slot and a 2.0-megapixel camera.
"Recognizing that people are being overwhelmed by an avalanche of email, the Snap introduces Inner Circle, an HTC innovation that makes it easy for people to prioritize messages from the most important people in their lives at the press of a button," said John Wang, Chief Marketing Officer at HTC.
The HTC Snap will launch in the second quarter, rolling out in markets around the world in the second half of the year.
An unlocked version supporting HSDPA at 850/1900MHz for the U.S. market will be made available under the name HTC S522 during the summer.
