AT&T to Let Prepaid Customers Talk All Day for $3

AT&T, the second-largest U.S. wireless provider, plans to offer prepaid users the ability to pay $3 to make unlimited local and long-distance calls for one day.
The new plan, called GoPhone Unlimited, will include no roaming or long-distance charges, but is strictly for voice calls -- so text messaging and data services will still be billed at the same old pay-per-use rates.Customers who only call other AT&T customers can pay just $1 to make unlimited mobile-to-mobile calls for one day. "The new GoPhone offer bridges the gap between paying as you go and the need for unlimited calling," said Judy Cavalieri, vice president of Prepaid Products for AT&T. "Customers see value in an unlimited prepaid service that lets them pay only for the days they use and operates on a network they can trust, and GoPhone serves both needs." GoPhone subscribers will be able to switch to the unlimited calling plan by calling 611 from their handset.
