Nokia, the world's top mobile phone maker, said today it plans to cut a further 490 jobs as part of its global cost cutting program.
The Finnish company said it would cut 490 jobs in logistics, production management and production support.
Nokia, which made its first ever quarterly pretax loss in January-March, has seen its earnings fall as consumers cut back on buying handsets amid the global economic downturn.
Its cost-cutting program aims to create more than $953 million in annual savings.
Prior to Tuesday, Nokia had already announced around 3,500 job reductions since January.
