Verizon, the nation's largest wireless provider, today unveiled the Samsung Omnia 2, a Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional smartphone with the world's largest display.

The South Korean phone maker said the Omnia 2 has a 3.7-inch AMOLED screen with WVGA resolution. It also uses Samsung's TouchWiz 2.0 user interface for 3D effects and multi-tasking convenience and R Touch (Resistive Touch) for faster, more accurate touch response.

Multimedia features include DVD-like (480p) video recording and playback, Internet browsing and interactive 3D games.

Users can also download content quickly with high-speed Internet and Wi-Fi.

Cool when verizon release this and what's the price?. I'm looking at the 2gb omnia 2.kinda reminds me of the iPhone but this is way cooler can't wait till an official date and price announcement because my upgrade is in late November do you think it will be out by then?

Can anyone conferm if the Omnia 2 has a slide out query board like the HTC Touch Pro. ? I'm almost certain that I saw one of those "Unboxing" videos as well as a couple still shots on a site that I can!t mentions for "rules" reasons, a couple of months ago showing it with the slide out query/key board. Can anyone conferm ? *Thanks !

does anyone on this forum work for verizon or knows someone who works for verizon who could tell me a release date for the Omnia 2 for verizon!. please help! i have read on a couple of other web sites that they are looking at Sept. 09 for the release of the omia 2. of course none of this has been confirmed for totally sure, just reporting what i have read. lets look like an awesome phone and i ready to upgrade to I hope they are right about Sept.

if you go on thee verizon website now they are having alot of sales. This usually signifys that new phone are coming out soon. We sites i have looked at said the Omnia 2 will be out on August 23.
