Just a day after Verizon Wireless said it would launch the BlackBerry Tour, Sprint, too, announced it would release its version of the Tour on the same July 12 day for the same $200 price.
Waterloo, Ontario-based RIM said Sprint's version of the Tour will also be a "world phone," offering world-roaming capabilities to easily access voice and data services overseas.
The handset will also come with multimedia options such as an enhanced media player with 256MB built-in memory, Sprint's Music and TV service, a 3.2-megapixel camera with geo-tagging and video recording and easy access to social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter.
It will also provide push-based email, built-in GPS with Sprint Navigator for driving directions and high-speed Web browsing.
