Samsung Electronics, the second-largest maker of mobile phones, today unveiled the S9110 -- the world's slimmest "watch phone."
The South Korean company said the mobile wristwatch has a scratch-resistant glass face and comes with stainless steel metal body and leather wrist belt.It features a 1.76-inch touch screen -- which users can use to check email from Outlook, play MP3s and make calls -- and integrates Bluetooth 2.1, a speakerphone and voice recognition technology. The device measures just 12mm thick, beating out rival LG Electronic's GD910 watch phone -- which measures 14mm. The Samsung S9110 will be released in France later this month for $640, and other European markets shortly thereafter. LG said its GD910 watch phone will be released in August.
