Struggling wireless carrier T-Mobile said electrical retailer RadioShack will sell its phones and service through its stores later this summer.
RadioShack currently offers services and handsets from rivals AT&T, Sprint Nextel and Alltel.
The company plans to sell T-Mobile's post-paid plans and a large selection of devices such as the new T-Mobile MyTouch Google phone.
"Our mobility strategy is rooted in customer advocacy, and allows us to offer the best solution for consumers' needs across multiple carriers, plans, phones and accessories," said Julian Day, RadioShack's Chief Executive. "RadioShack has a tremendous legacy of innovation, and in a highly mobile world, keeping our customers seamlessly connected to one another is a commitment we are very focused on delivering."
For T-Mobile, the deal almost doubles the number of partner stores that sell its postpaid plans. RadioShack operates over 4,000 stores throughout the U.S. and approximately 200 stores in Mexico. The agreement will start on August 19.
