AT&T today said the Samsung Solstice, a touch screen handset with access to Facebook and MySpace, will be launched on August 2.
AT&T, the second-largest U.S. carrier, said the Solstice has a 3.0-inch touch screen with a virtual, landscape QWERTY keyboard. Running on Samsung's TouchWiz user interface, users can add "widgets" to access frequently used applications such as Facebook and MySpace. It comes with a 2.0-megapixel camera, MP3 player, video and audio streaming, preloaded games, Bluetooth technology and a microSD memory card slot supporting up to 16GB. The Solstice also includes high-speed 3G Internet and access to AT&T's services such as Mobile Music and Navigator. "The sleek, compact Solstice brings a rich web browsing and instant access to your favorite social networking sites through widgets and Samsung's innovative TouchWiz user experience," said Omar Khan, Samsung's vice president.
