Verizon Wireless today launched the Escapade, a low-cost global phone that allows users to place voice calls in more than 220 destinations worldwide.
The Basking Ridge, N.J.-based carrier said the Escapade was designed with globetrotters and jet-setters in mind -- running on both CDMA and GSM networks.
It has a built-in 2.0-megapixel camera, dual color screens and Bluetooth support for headset, handsfree, phonebook access, and Object Push for vCard profiles.
The handset also includes VZ Navigator for audible turn-by-turn directions to more than 15 million points of interest in the U.S.
Most world phones are high-end smartphones, such as the BlackBerry Tour.
The Escapade is available for $30 with a two-year contract.
