Sprint plans to launch the HTC Touch Pro2 -- a touch screen smartphone with dual speakers, dual microphones, a mute button and professional speakerphone technology -- on September 8.
"The HTC Touch Pro2 was designed with the philosophy that people should be at the center of the communications experience," said Jason Mackenzie, HTC America's vice president. "The HTC Touch Pro2 intuitively organizes all communications, whether voice, text or email, under a single contact card."The Overland Park, Kan.-based company said flipping the Touch Pro2 over activates the speakerphone's "Straight Talk" technology -- high-fidelity sound enhanced by asymmetric speakers and advanced noise suppression with full-duplex acoustics -- similar to those found in corporate boardrooms. Combining Windows Mobile 6.1 with HTC's TouchFLO UI, users can swipe, drag and tap the screen to access menu items. T-Mobile released its Touch Pro2 earlier this month. Sprint's Touch Pro2 will be available on September 8 in retail stores and online.
