AT&T Says iPhone to Get MMS on September 25

AT&T said the iPhone 3G and 3GS will finally get the ability to send picture and video messages, a basic feature that has been glaringly omitted from the handset, on September 25.
Apple's popular smartphone has lacked the ability to send multimedia messaging since the first model was released in 2007.A software update released earlier in the summer prepared the iPhone for the long-requested feature, but AT&T held off on enabling MMS to make sure its network could handle the traffic. "We know many of our iPhone customers are eager for an update on our rollout schedule for multimedia messaging service," an AT&T spokesman said. "We've been working for the past several months to prepare our systems and network to ensure the best possible experience with MMS when it launches." The original iPhone still won't be able to send MMS.
