T-Mobile said it will begin rolling out a Google Android update for the G1 and MyTouch 3G smartphones in the coming days.
The Bellevue, Wash.-based carrier said Android 1.6, dubbed "Donut," will be automatically delivered to customers over-the-air, enhancing features such as an improved Android Market, updated voice search and shows a battery usage indicator.
The update also adds a Quick Search Box that lets users search across browser bookmarks and history, contacts and the Web and integrates camera, camcorder and gallery functionality.
A bug that would restart the handset after dialing 911 was fixed as well.
