Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC today unveiled the HD2, the first Windows Mobile 6.5 device to offer its "Sense" user interface.
The company said the HD2 comes with a large 4.3-inch capacitive touch screen display to make viewing, zooming and resizing easier with a pinch of the fingers.The handset is powered by Qualcomm's new 1GHz Snapdragon mobile processor for improved application speeds. Running on Microsoft's new Windows Mobile 6.5 platform, the HD2 has an Internet Explore Mobile browser with Flash support, "MyPhone" backup service and access to applications and games through Windows Marketplace for Mobile. Additional features include a 5.0-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi and access to social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. The company has offered four other Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphones -- the Imagio for Verizon, Pure and Tilt 2 for AT&T and Touch2 for Europe and Asia. HTC said the HD2 will launch in Europe later this month with other regions following in the coming months.
