Sprint plans to launch the Samsung Intrepid, a Windows Mobile 6.5 device with a QWERTY keyboard, on October 11 for $150.
The company said the Intrepid features a 2.5-inch touch screen display and a QWERTY keyboard.Running on Windows Mobile 6.5, the Intrepid comes with Microsoft's new Internet Explore Mobile browser with Flash support, "MyPhone" backup service and access to applications and games through Windows Marketplace for Mobile. Additional features include a 3.2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, high-speed EV-DO Rev. A, access to social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter and a microSD slot. The Intrepid also supports Sprint's services like Sprint TV and Music Store, Sprint Navigation and Sprint NFL Mobile. "The Intrepid makes it easier for people to do more on the go by giving them the choice to use voice or touch input," said Andy Lees, Microsoft's senior vice president. Sprint said the Intrepid will be available beginning October 11 for $150 with a two-year contract.
