Nokia today announced the 5235, an affordable touch screen music phone aiming to ship in the first quarter at a price of $215.
The Finnish company said the 5235 "Comes with Music" handset is its cheapest smartphone to date with unlimited access to the Nokia's Music Store catalogue.Consumers will be able to legally download music over a 12 or 18 month period. It also features a 3.2-inch touch screen display, 2.0-megapixel camera and runs Nokia's Symbian operating system. The company is under pressure from rival Apple and said earlier this month it wanted to push down prices while increasing its margins, helped by its Symbian operating system. Nokia said the 5235 will ship in the first quarter at a price of $215.
