Google is rolling out updates for its Nexus One smartphone that enables multi-touch, improves 3G performance and adds other software features.
The Mountain View, Calif.-based company said the new update enables multi-touch features -- such pinch-to-zoom capabilities similar to the iPhone -- for applications like Google Maps, the Web browser and photo gallery.Other additions include search suggestions based on a previous search history, an update to Google Maps that adds "starred item" synchronization and improved 3G connectivity on some devices. Google said the update will be gradually sent to devices over the next week. Nexus One owners receive a message in the notifications bar when the update arrives.
