HTC said it plans to venture into China under its own name for the first time, amid increasing competition with rival Apple.
"We are proud to introduce the HTC brand in China and look forward to bringing a fresh customer-centric smartphone experience to consumers in China," said Cher Wang, HTC's chairwoman.
Under a new deal with China Mobile, which has over a half-billion subscribers, Taiwan-based HTC hopes to grow its share in the world's largest cellular market.
HTC, which previously sold products with Shanghai-based partner, Dopod, is gaining popularity in the North America and Europe regions. With renewed confidence from successes in its largest markets, the company hopes to bring the momentum in China, targeting sales of up to 33 million units worldwide next year, up from its forecast of 24 million this year.
"We believe China is a good market for smartphone development," said Peter Chou, HTC's chief executive. "Consumers from China will love this kind of product because Internet penetration here is pretty high."
Analysts say the move firmly establishes HTC's momentum in the coming years as sales begin to saturate in the West. The company said the four new smartphones, including two touch screen devices, will hit Chinese markets in late August or early September.
