By Kat Asharya | Fri Aug 20, 2010 1:26 pm |
Nokia today announced that it has acquired mobile analytics firm Motally, with the aim of improving its software offerings to developers.
The Espoo, Finland-based company said the deal emphasizes its attempt to improve mobile web browsing analytics for software developers.
Motally helps software developers improve their application development and better understand consumers using analytics services.
Nokia did not disclose details of the financial acquisition.
The handset maker has been struggling with rivals Apple and Google to develop mobile software, which is increasingly important in the mobile phone market. Its purchase of Motally, founding in 2008 with eight employees, is Nokia's latest move in making the company competitive in an increasingly crowded field.
