Alltel and Research In Motion today announced the availability of the BlackBerry 7250 Wireless Handheld, BlackBerry Enterprise Server and BlackBerry Internet Service. BlackBerry, developed and manufactured by Research In Motion, operates on Alltel's CDMA 1X digital wireless network.

Alltel customers in Tampa, Cleveland and Akron, Ohio, now can download large, graphic rich files and streaming audio from the Internet to their laptops through the company's new wireless broadband network.
Alltel's Axcess Broadband service lets users access the Internet with bursts up to 2.4 Mbps and average speeds of 300 to 500 Kbps. The three Alltel markets are the first to receive the new wireless Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) technology.

Alltel is the first wireless company to combine text, picture or video messaging in one pricing bundle that gives customers freedom to send any of the three messages at a flat rate.
The new price plans, marketed as the Axcess Messaging Pack, simplify wireless messaging in two ways.
