Apple's iPhone was the leading smartphone during the month of July, and sales equaled the leading "feature phone," the LG Chocolate, according to a sales survey released Tuesday.

AT&T and Apple today announced three service plans for iPhone which start at just $59.99 per month. All three plans include unlimited data, Visual Voicemail, 200 SMS text messages, roll-over minutes, unlimited mobile-to-mobile calling, and a specific number of voice minutes. Apple today announced that iPhone users will be able to enjoy YouTube content on their iPhones when they begin shipping on June 29. A new Apple-designed application on iPhone will wirelessly stream YouTube's content to iPhone over Wi-Fi or EDGE networks and play it on iPhone's display.

Apple today announced that its iPhone will have a longer lasting battery than originally expected, exceeding those in rival phones.
The iPhone will feature up to 8 hours of talk time, 6 hours of Internet use, 7 hours of video playback or 24 hours of audio playback. Apple and AT&T Stores will begin selling the much-awaited iPhone on June 29th, according to television ads by the high-tech group.
The combination iPod, cell phone and Internet device was unveiled in January by Apple chief executive Steve Jobs.

Cisco and Apple today announced that they have resolved their dispute involving the "iPhone" trademark.
Hostilities broke out between the two companies last month, when Apple CEO Steve Jobs announced the music phone at the annual Macworld convention in San Francisco. Cisco claimed that it had owned the trademark since 2000 and was using it for a line of Internet-connected phones.

The Apple iPhone was unveiled earlier this week after 30 months and millions of dollars in top-secret development. But the sleek new iPod-phone combination could wind up costing the company a lot more.
Cisco today announced that it has filed a lawsuit to forbid Apple from using the name "iPhone." It obtained the iPhone trademark in 2000 after the acquisition of Infogear, which previously owned the mark and sold iPhone products for several years.

Apple Computer is getting ready to enter the cell phone market with a handset built with iPod music player functionality, reported Japanese news agency Nikkei.
The highlight of the new cell phone will feature the ability to directly download songs from Apple's iTunes Music Store.
