Samsung today unveiled the SGH-F490, a multimedia phone with a 3.2-inch, 16:9 wide full-touch screen and intuitive user interface for the European market. To support Internet browsing, the F490 embedded Google Search and optimized full browser for Web pages in both vertical and horizontal views.

Deutsche Telekom's mobile phone division, T-Mobile, will sell Apple's iPhone in Germany for 399 euros ($558) each, the companies said today. Making its debut in Germany on November 9, the iPhone combines three devices into one - a mobile phone, a widescreen iPod, and a mobile Internet device - all based on Apple's multi-touch interface and software that allows users to control the iPhone with just a tap, flick or pinch of their fingers.

Apple announced today that O2 will be the exclusive UK carrier for Apple's iPhone when it makes its debut in the UK on November 9. The iPhone combines three devices into one - a mobile phone, a widescreen iPod, and the best mobile Internet device ever - all based on Apple's revolutionary multi-touch interface and pioneering software that allows users to control iPhone with just a tap, flick or pinch of their fingers. Apple sold its one millionth iPhone just 74 days after it went on sale in the US on June 29.

Apple's iPhone was the leading smartphone during the month of July, and sales equaled the leading "feature phone," the LG Chocolate, according to a sales survey released Tuesday.

AT&T said today that it activated 146,000 iPhones after the first two days of sales, which fell on the final days of the second quarter. Apple shares fell the most in six months after analysts said demand may be slowing for the iPhone, which Chief Executive Officer Steve Jobs expects to become the company's third major business. This is way below analysts' estimates, which had ranged from 500,000 to 1 million.

AT&T and Apple today announced three service plans for iPhone which start at just $59.99 per month. All three plans include unlimited data, Visual Voicemail, 200 SMS text messages, roll-over minutes, unlimited mobile-to-mobile calling, and a specific number of voice minutes. With everything else already included, iPhone customers can easily choose the plan that's right for them based on the amount of voice minutes they plan to use each month. In addition, iPhone customers can choose from any of AT&T's standard service plans.

Apple today announced that iPhone users will be able to enjoy YouTube content on their iPhones when they begin shipping on June 29. A new Apple-designed application on iPhone will wirelessly stream YouTube's content to iPhone over Wi-Fi or EDGE networks and play it on iPhone's display.
