Research In Motion (RIM) and AT&T today introduced the BlackBerry Curve, the smallest and lightest full QWERTY BlackBerry smartphone. With a smooth and friendly design, the Curve encompasses a large display, easy-to-use keyboard and trackball navigation system.

AT&T today announced the Option GT Max 3.6 Express ExpressCard; and in early May the Sierra Wireless AirCard 875U mobile broadband device for USB ports, both powered by AT&T's 3G BroadbandConnect service and able to download a 1 megabyte file in about 15 seconds on average.

AT&T and Yahoo today launched an upgrade of their photo service. The new version is geared toward making it easier for subscribers to share photos over PCs and mobile devices.

AT&T announced an agreement to buy BellSouth for $67 billion. AT&T currently owns 60 percent of Cingular, the No. 1 wireless carrier, while BellSouth owns the remaining 40 percent. As part of the deal, AT&T would assume full control of Cingular.

Yahoo! today announced Yahoo! Go Mobile, a new service designed to let consumers take their favorite Internet content and services with them on their mobile devices. Yahoo! Go Mobile will be launching with AT&T and Cingular Wireless in the United States and with Nokia in multiple international markets in the coming months. Yahoo! Go Mobile integrates the power of the Internet into consumers' mobile device experiences by combining real-time connectivity with access to their community, information and content services from across the web.

Compiling FCC data in 2004, a Consumers Union report cited 29,478 wireless complaints received by the FCC, up nearly 38% from 2003. Billing problems were the most common, followed by number portability complaints, service quality, and contracts and marketing.
