Cingular Wireless today announced it would begin offering ringtones of live performances from "American Idol" made within 24 hours of the show's broadcast.
Cingular customers will be able to buy ringtones of finalists' performances for $2.49 each. Ringtones will also be made during subsequent "American Idol" performance shows this season.
After selected performances from Tuesday's shows, Cingular customers will be able to buy ringtones for $2.49 each, the very next day. Fandango, the nation's largest movie ticket provider, is expanding its service further into the mobile arena by adding Cingular to its roster of cellular partners.
Earlier this month Fandango, which relied solely on selling tickets through the Internet, began migrating from PCs by partnering with Sprint Nextel offering movie ticketing and information and movie-related text-messaging.

Cingular Wireless today announced the launch of on-demand video streaming service. Starting at $20 a month, subscribers can watch video clips from Cartoon Network, CNN, ESPN, and NBC among others. The service will use Cingular's high-speed UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System) 3G data network, which is currently available in 16 cities.

AT&T and Yahoo! today launched a service that lets people use Cingular cell phones to access their photos, email, instant messaging, and address books on their Yahoo accounts.
