Electronic Arts unveiled games tailored for Google phones running on Android open-source software.
Tetris is available for the first of what is expected to be an array of mobile telephones based on a free, open software platform created by a Google-led Open Handset Alliance.
EA said that puzzle-game "Bejeweled" and a video game version of "Monopoly" will be available for T-Mobile G1 handset in November and that more games are in development.

Wal-Mart Stores plans to sell the T-Mobile G1, powered by Google, for $30 less than T-Mobile, the exclusive U.S. carrier for the device.
Wal-Mart said it would start selling the touch screen phone for $148.88 on Wednesday October 29 in about 550 stores for consumers who sign up for a two-year T-Mobile contract.
T-Mobile, the No. 4 U.S. mobile service, last week kicked off sales of the device for $179.

T-Mobile today launched the T-Mobile G1, the first Google Android-powered mobile phone.
The T-Mobile G1 combines a full touch-screen with a QWERTY keyboard. It offers dozens of Android Market applications and popular Google products such as Google Maps Street View, Gmail and YouTube.
The G1 is the first phone to access Android Market. Users can download a wide range of applications to personalize their phone.

Google today released the open-source code which powers its Android mobile operating system.
The open-source code comes a day before the launch of the Android-based T-Mobile G1, Google's challenge to the Apple iPhone.
The G1 offers many of the features of the iPhone and Research in Motion's popular BlackBerry including a touch screen similar to that of the iPhone, a trackball for navigation, high-speed Internet browsing, Wi-Fi, email, instant messaging and SMS texting.

Visa said it is developing a mobile payment service for the new cell phone powered by Google's Android system.
San Francisco-based company said Android users will be able to receive near real-time alerts about transactions via their mobile devices. Customers will also be able to use location-based mapping technology to find ATM machines and nearby stores.

In advance of the new Google phone, T-Mobile has lifted the cap on its monthly data plan.
The amendment was made a day after T-Mobile announced the G1, the first smartphone to use Google's Android mobile software platform. The T-Mobile G1 combines touch-screen functionality and a QWERTY keyboard with popular Google products such as Google Maps Street View, Gmail and YouTube.

Internet search leader Google today unveiled a handset developed with T-Mobile to compete with Apple's hot-selling iPhone.
The T-Mobile G1, the first mobile device powered by Google's open-source Android software, has a large touch screen similar to the iPhone, but it also packs a 3.0-megapixel camera with photo-sharing capability, a trackball, a slide-out keyboard and easy access to Google's email and mapping programs.

T-Mobile will be the first carrier to offer a mobile phone based on Google's Android software.
The phone will be made by HTC, one of the largest makers of cell phones in the world, and is expected to challenge Apple's iPhone as well as other smartphones that run software from Palm, RIM (Research in Motion), Microsoft and Nokia.

Google today showed off its Android mobile phone software system, appearing to mimic Apple's iPhone. But Google officials downplayed the notion that they will face off against the iPhone in the handset market.

Sprint and Google are partnering to bring services such as Google Maps for Mobile and YouTube to Sprint customers. As part of the deal, Google will also become Sprint's preferred mobile search provider.
