PalmSource, provider of Palm OS operating system, today announced that LG Electronics has signed an agreement to license Palm OS worldwide. Under terms of the agreement, LG Electronics can develop and market smartphones based on Palm OS.

LG Electronics, the world's most innovative handset manufacturer, unveiled its six new feature-rich high-tech mobile phones at CommunicAsia 2005 - the DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) phone, a new-type slide phone, 5-megapixel camera phones, a 3-D game phone, a real MP3 music phone and a sports car-design phone.

Building on its reputation for making stylish, functional mobile phones that enable consumers to express themselves in a variety of creative ways, LG Electronics, today announced the launch of its newest marketing and advertising campaigns, which together form an integrated platform designed to differentiate LG from its competitors, educate consumers as to the many ways in which LG mobile phones fit into their lives and provide cross-promotional opportunities with LG's wireless carrier and retail partners. The campaign, whose theme "six degrees" illustrates the many ways in which LG mobile phones ensure that consumers are constantly in touch with their worlds, was developed in partnership by LG and the company's advertising agency of record, BrandBuzz.

Located near the company's U.S. headquarters in San Diego, the center will provide a unique opportunity for LG's researchers and engineers to tap into the latest technical, cultural and style trends in America. This new facility will give LG increased access to the world of the American consumer and allow them to react quickly to trends, designing and producing handsets that truly meet consumers' most up-to-the-minute needs and raising the bar for form and function. Sprint announced today the introduction of the LG MM-535. This will be the fifth multimedia handset to be delivered to the marketplace by Sprint. The MM-535 by LG will offer customers the ability to enjoy Sprint PCS Vision Multimedia Services through the built-in media player and dual speakers with 3D sound for premium audio quality. The handset also features a mini SD card to play MP3 and AAC music files and an integrated 1.3-megapixel camera with built-in flash and camcorder functionality for taking pictures and videos.

South Korean cell phone manufacturer, LG Electronics, announced that it has successfully completed testing of its ultra-fast next-generation handsets on high-speed network provided by Canadian partner, Nortel Networks.
