Building on the resounding success of the RAZR V3, Motorola has introduced a special-edition RAZR V3 in jet black, dubbed the BLZR. Previously showcased on CNBC by CEO Ed Zander, the BLZR was provided to the top acting and directing nominees of this year's Academy Awards.

At the 3GSM World Congress in Cannes, Motorola officially announced and the SLVR L7 phone; a razor-thin block phone similar to the popular RAZR V3 clamshell.
Weighing at just 85 grams, the SLVR supports EDGE high-speed transfer rates over 300 kbps, push-to-talk walkie-talkie access, Bluetooth Class 2 wireless connectivity, J2ME downloadable games, and Wireless Village instant messaging chat.

In the mid-90s, Motorola released the StarTAC, a cell phone with a revolutionary clamshell design taking the world by surprise. Years later, it became a staple in Motorola's product portfolio as North Americans everywhere became flip phone fanatics.

Shortly after the Academy Award nominations were announced Tuesday, gift baskets were being assembled for acting and best-director contenders.
Of the many fabulous gifts, one will be a limited edition RAZR V3 from Motorola; black in color instead of the standard metal finish.

Today, Motorola announced it beat expectations and rode strong fourth quarter sales to regain the No. 2 position from Samsung. Spearheaded by the RAZR V3, Motorola released a massive 20 phone portfolio resulting in a 34% increase in fourth-quarter profits; solidifying its position behind Nokia.

Motorola may have gotten an early Christmas present from rival cell phone manufacturer, Samsung. The Korean manufacturer reported that its fourth quarter profits were lower than expected, hurt by the recent price war with Finnish rival Nokia. It had been slow to beef up its portfolio in time for the holiday shopping season, giving Motorola's newest phones an edge.

Customers have issued a lawsuit claiming that Verizon Wireless has limited some common Bluetooth features in the Motorola V710.
Verizon has restricted Bluetooth usage, such as transferring photographs between the V710 and other gadgets, forcing users to use Verizon's Network for functions that would be free to do over Bluetooth.

Motorola announced today a partnership to produce eyewear for Oakley with Bluetooth wireless technology. The new products will allow users to control electronic devices from their sunglasses. No further details have been mentioned, but plans will be unveiled in mid 2005.
