Nokia said today that Sony BMG has agreed to join Nokia's music service program, giving Nokia device users access to music published by Sony BMG. Last December, Nokia unveiled a similar deal for its "Comes With Music" phones with the top record label Universal.

Nokia today said it would start selling a new handset, the 6212 Classic, with integrated Near Field Communication (NFC). NFC allows users to share content by connecting two phones which can receive audio files and other downloads from service providers simultaneously. The phone can also be used for payments.

Nokia today unveiled its newest Nseries device, the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet WiMAX Edition, taking advantage of new wide-area high-speed mobile WiMAX networks. Delivering an Internet experience similar to fixed broadband technologies, WiMAX typically downloads at speeds of up to 2-4 Mbps per user with peak download speeds of up to 10 Mbps. The N810 WiMAX Edition is expected to be available in the U.S. during the summer of 2008 in areas where WiMAX connectivity is available.
