Nokia today announced that it will be releasing an N-Gage QD Silver Edition to the European, Middle Eastern and African markets. Nokia continues to support the N-Gage platform with the best games line up to date, with titles such as ONE, System Rush, Pathway to Glory Ikusa Islands and High Seize.

The Board of Directors has appointed Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, 52, President and Chief Operating Officer effective October 1, 2005, and President and Chief Executive Officer from June 1, 2006. Mr. Kallasvuo joined Nokia in 1980 and currently heads the Mobile Phones business group. Prior to this he worked as the company's Chief Financial Officer.

The high-tier Nokia 6265 camera phone delivers a 2 megapixel imaging sensor in a modern sliding design. For the entry-level market, the folding Nokia 2255 phone and Nokia 2125 offer 64K color displays and convenient integrated speakerphones at an attractive price point. The Nokia 2125 is expected to be available during the third quarter of 2005, while the Nokia 2255 and Nokia 6265 are expected to be available during the fourth quarter of 2005.

Nokia announced today that it is using best-of-breed open source software as the basis of a new mobile browser for its world leading smartphone software, the Series 60 Platform. The new browser aims at an unparalleled user experience when browsing full Web pages on a smartphone screen - over wireless connections with the top performance in the mobile industry. The flexibility and extensibility of the new browser will allow Series 60 licensees to further innovate and customize the browser, for example to meet their operator customer needs.

Nokia today introduced a plan to significantly increase the options businesses have to optimize their voice services. Speaking at the annual Nokia Connection media event, Jaakko Olkkonen, Nokia's general manager for Enterprise Voice Solutions, described the strategy as a "fundamentally new way to marry the best of fixed and mobile telephony to provide cost savings and productivity to businesses and employees, new business opportunities for service providers, and simplicity and freedom for people in or out of the office."

Today, at the Nokia Connection events in Helsinki and Singapore, Nokia introduced seven new handsets under the heading "Simple Pleasures." Four new slide phones were revealed, including the 3G-enabled Nokia 6280 for WCDMA markets, and the Nokia 6265, Nokia's most feature-filled CDMA model to date. Additionally, Nokia introduced two folding designs and a traditional monoblock design. All seven models are expected to begin shipping in the second half of 2005.
