Verizon Wireless today announced the LG enV2, the successor to the popular LG enV featuring a new slim redesign and sophisticated black or maroon finish, will be available in April.
The LG enV2 offers features including VCAST Music and Video, VZ Navigator, Bluetooth capabilities, dual speakers and a 2.0-megapixel camera. The phone's QWERTY keypad makes messaging easy, while a 2.4-inch internal screen offers clear videos and images.

Verizon Wireless announced today that Loopt, a social-mapping service, will be available next month.
Users can share location information, status messages and geo-tagged photos with their friends. Consumers can view where friends in their private network are located via a map displayed on their mobile phones and connect and share their locations with anyone in their address books or AIM buddy lists. Apple is expected to launch a high-speed wireless version of iPhone in the second quarter and produce as many as 8 million of the devices in the third quarter, according to Bank of America.

Motorola today announced a plan to split its struggling cell phone business from other operations to form two separate publicly traded companies.
