Sprint Nextel Responds to Katrina with Restoration Effort

Sprint Nextel today is marshalling its forces along the Gulf Coast to restore service in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. In addition to hundreds of engineers and technicians poised to move into the area once it is safe, almost two dozen specialty vehicles are being assembled to coordinate the recovery effort and restore communications services to the devastated communities. Survey Finds 50% of Teens Prefer Cell Phones to TV

Survey results released today from ACE*COMM Corporation indicate most North American parents aren't supervising the mobile phone use of their teenaged children. Seventy-one percent of teenagers surveyed admit they enjoy unrestricted use of their mobile phones. The online survey, conducted for ACE*COMM by Itracks, polled 1000 teens across North America between the ages of 13 and 18 from July 30 to August 9, 2005. Sprint Nextel to Acquire Two Affiliates

Sprint Nextel Corporation and Gulf Coast Wireless Limited Partnership announced an agreement for Sprint Nextel to acquire Gulf Coast Wireless for approximately $287.5 million, including the assumption of debt. Bosses Can't Live Without Cell Phones

Most people have one technology tool they can't live without. For financial executives, it's the cell phone. In a nationwide survey of chief financial officers (CFOs), cell phones topped the list as the most indispensable portable technology device, with 44 percent of the response. Laptop computers came in close second, cited by 39 percent of executives polled.
