Electronic Arts and Verizon Wireless today announced a publishing relationship that will bring EA's blockbuster games to Verizon Wireless Get It Now customers. In coming weeks, the initial launch line-up is expected to include graphically rich versions of Madden NFL 06, NBA Live 06, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06, FIFA 06, Need for Speed Most Wanted, The Sims 2, and popular games from Pogo.com including Tri Peaks Solitaire, Turbo 21 and Poppit. Fans of popular games from Electronic Arts can soon play them on their Sprint PCS Vision handsets. It was announced today that Sprint will offer mobile versions of many of EA's hit games, including Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06 and Pogo.com games Poppit!, Tri-Peaks Solitaire and Turbo 21.

Today marks the date palmOne, Inc. becomes Palm, Inc. The company today begins trading under the symbol PALM, formerly traded under the Nasdaq ticker symbol PLMO. Accompanying the name change is the release of a new company logo, which will begin appearing on products this fall.
Today's news follows an announcement on May 24 that the company had acquired unencumbered rights to the Palm(R) brand by buying out the share of the brand formerly controlled by PalmSource.

Within minutes of the tragic London bombings last week, news sites showed location video footage - mainly from camera phones - sent by members of the public. According to director of news Helen Boaden, the BBC quickly received 30 video clips, which aired on broadcasts and online within 20 minutes of the attack. Drivers who use cellular phones while operating their vehicles are at an increased risk of crashing, according to a recent study commissioned by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
