Cingular customers can exchange pictures and short video messages, including text and audio, with any Cingular, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Leap Wireless and US Cellular customer, who has an MMS-enabled device, as well as any email address. With Intercarrier Multimedia Messaging Service, Cingular customers have access to the broadest wireless MMS community, representing 80 percent of wireless subscribers in the U.S.

Consumer demand for mobile downloads is set to triple in the next 12 months, creating a $9.1 billion global market for mobile content by this time next year, according to international research announced today by LogicaCMG at its Content Management event in London.

Sprint has begun launch of a new wireless high-speed data network that will provide mobile Internet access to about 150 million people in at least 60 metropolitan areas across the nation by early 2006. Sprint's new wireless high-speed data (EV-DO, Evolution Data Optimized) service, devices and applications will change how and where business is done and offer consumers an enhanced mobile multi-media experience.

Communication is sharing. Sharing ideas, feelings, pictures. And today, customers of Sprint and T-Mobile USA are able to communicate with more people than ever before, thanks to an agreement that enables picture and video messaging exchanges between subscribers.

Alltel today announced it has reached an agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice related to the company's pending merger with Western Wireless Corporation.
Under the agreement, Alltel will divest 16 markets in Arkansas, Kansas and Nebraska now owned and operated by Western Wireless. The divestiture agreement includes all the assets - licenses, retail stores, employees and cell sites - used to operate the CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) wireless business in those markets. Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. today announced its co-development with NTT DoCoMo of a prototype high-capacity micro fuel cell and the prototype development of an external recharger for FOMA handsets. PalmSource, provider of Palm OS operating system, today announced that LG Electronics has signed an agreement to license Palm OS worldwide. Under terms of the agreement, LG Electronics can develop and market smartphones based on Palm OS.

The Walt Disney Internet Group (WDIG) and Sprint today announced an agreement through which Disney will create the first national U.S. wireless phone service specifically designed for families. The service, called Disney Mobile, will use the Sprint Nationwide PCS Network and is slated to launch next year.

GoTV Networks, an on-demand mobile television provider, announced that it will broadcast coverage of Live 8, the worldwide concert event created to raise awareness of poverty in Africa, on its new alternative music channel, ALTitude. Motorola today announced the availability of its commercial Push-To-Talk over Cellular (PoC) Clients for Symbian and UIQ mobile devices.
