Verizon Wireless today introduced Visual Voice Mail, an application that manages voice mail on phones. Available initially on the LG Voyager, users can delete, reply and forward voice mail messages without listening to prior messages or voice instructions, making it a more effective way to manage and respond to messages.

Motorola today introduced its ROKR EM30, a candybar phone that transforms with a touch of a button. Colorful cues let users know which mode they are in. With ModeShift technology, the keyboard illuminates red in Music Mode and blue in Phone Mode.

Motorola today named Sanjay Jha, Qualcomm's former chief operating officer, to head its mobile devices business. Jha will also be co-chief executive of the parent company, sharing the responsibility with incumbent Greg Brown. Brown will take responsibility for Motorola's other two divisions.
