Sprint has released an update to its popular palmOne Treo 650 smartphone. The Treo 650 Updater features performance and reliability enhancements for the smartphone including:
- Overall voice quality improvements, including fix for voice "choppiness" some Sprint PCS customers experienced
- Internal setting modification to allow correct access to Sprint Affiliate roaming partner networks (previously released as Sprint PCS Treo 650 Roaming Patch)

Designing a one-of-a-kind Treo 650 bejeweled with over 2,000 Swarovski crystals in a Canadian flag theme, palmOne will be auctioning it to the highest bidder with all proceeds donated to Autism Society Canada.
In addition to its inspiring design, the Ultimate Canada Smartphone sings, reads, and plays red and white through a collection of pre-loaded Canadian applications and downloads, including:
- Music by Arcade Fire, k-os, Oscar Peterson and Neil Young
- e-book "The Oryx and Crake" by Margaret Atwood

Cingular Wireless and palmOne Inc. today announced the availability of the Treo 650 smartphone, the first device of its kind to take advantage of the carrier's EDGE (Enhanced Data for Global Evolution) network -- the fastest national wireless data network in the country. The Treo 650 also is a quad-band worldphone, so Cingular customers can make and receive voice calls in 170 countries and access data in nearly 75 countries.

Amidst gloomy profit estimates, palmOne CEO Todd Bradley has announced his resignation. While not officially stepping down until late February, Bradley will stay on as an adviser until the end of the fiscal year in May.
Ed Colligan, President, will assume role of interim CEO while the company conducts a search for a permanent replacement.
