Sprint and Samsung today introduced the ultra-thin MM-A900. Measuring just over a half-inch thick, the ultra-compact MM-A900 is the thinnest Power Vision phone available from Sprint. Made of magnesium, a lightweight metal, the handset's unique look and feel will delight the fashion-conscious user. In addition, the sleek handset's large, crisp display and stereo speakers are ideal for watching live TV with full-motion video with vivid sound. Harnessing the speed of Sprint's Power Vision EVDO network, the Samsung MM-A900 enables customers to access the latest news, music and entertainment content at broadband-like speeds.

Samsung introduced 5 new cell phones for the European market today. The average of the newly unveiled phones are under 15mm and offer the latest multimedia features, such as music playback capability, megapixel camera and Bluetooth connectivity. The line-ups include two 3G phones (SGH-Z510 and SGH-Z540), two slide-up GSM / GPRS phones (SGH-D800 and SGH-D820), and a credit-card size mobile phone (SGH-P300).

Sprint and Samsung today announced the Sprint Power Vision Multimedia Phone MM-A940 by Samsung. The MM-A940 by Samsung is compatible with the Sprint Power Vision network- Sprint's EV-DO (Evolution Data Optimized) wireless high-speed multimedia network. The new services supported by the MM-A940 include the newly announced Sprint Music Store, which allows users to immediately buy and download complete songs directly to their phone; 30 channels of live and on demand video and audio from Sprint TV and On Demand, a personalized resource guide to news, traffic, weather, sports and entertainment. The MM-A940 by Samsung is also the first two-megapixel, 2.0 optical zoom camera phone with a rotating screen introduced to the U.S. by Sprint. The phone is available now nationwide for $399.99 or $249.99 after rebate.

Samsung today announced the availability of the multi-functional designed SGH-d307, which features a swivel display that morphs the clamshell phone into a virtual mini-laptop. With a quick flip of the screen, the d307's numeric keypad becomes a full QWERTY keyboard, unveiling a productive messaging device for users to send and receive emails and instant messages on the fly.

Samsung Electronics announced that it has developed a 7.2 Megapixel CMOS image sensor (CIS). It is the world's first 7.2M-pixel CIS for compact cameras with the smallest pixel size. Samsung Electronics today announced that it is sampling Gigabyte (GB) MultiMediaCards (MMCs) with customers: 1GB and 2GB MMC plus cards, and the industry's first 1GB MMC mobile card. Samsung Electronics today announced that the company has developed an optimized QVGA display driver IC (DDI) chip that incorporates Qualcomm's Mobile Display Digital Interface (MDDI). By including this serial interface technology, Samsung's new S6D0142 DDI chip reduces the number of wires that run across the hinge of wireless 3G clamshell handset designs to interconnect Qualcomm Mobile Station Modem (MSM) chipsets with the LCD display. Mobile handsets with Samsung's new S6D0142 DDI chip will also be more reliable due to a simplified design.

Samsung Electronics, a leading company for TFT-LCD technology, will introduce a new "section display" for mobile phones this fall. This display is divided into an indicator window and a main window and the low-power consumption quality of the new technology corrects the existing imperfections of external phone screens for an elegant, "always on," indicator display that requires virtually no power.
