Beginning today, on the heels of New York's Spring Fashion Week, Samsung and Vogue will debut Anna Sui Mobile by Samsung, a limited edition couture phone; the limited edition version of Samsung and T-Mobile's e315, features exclusive Anna Sui illustrations as screensavers.

Samsung has won the GSM Association's award for Best Mobile Handset with its SGH-D500. The award, announced at a ceremony at the 3GSM World Congress last night, recognized excellence in handset design and innovation.

Samsung has unveiled its latest range of 3G handsets, the SGH-Z500, Z130 and Z300. Along with its phones, Samsung is also exhibiting several products that demonstrate multimedia including Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) phones.

Macromedia announced a licensing agreement with Samsung Electronics to provide Flash Lite 1.1. A variation of Macromedia Flash Player, Flash Lite 1.1 is specifically designed for mobile devices, giving the ability to view interactive Flash content.

Samsung and Verizon Wireless, the nation's leading wireless service provider, today announced the February 1 availability of the SCH-A890, the first wireless handset from Samsung for Verizon Wireless' VCAST service - the nation's first 3G wireless multimedia service. The innovative A890 will allow consumers to access a variety of VCAST applications, including Video on Demand (VOD), designed to inform and entertain wireless customers.

Today, Motorola announced it beat expectations and rode strong fourth quarter sales to regain the No. 2 position from Samsung. Spearheaded by the RAZR V3, Motorola released a massive 20 phone portfolio resulting in a 34% increase in fourth-quarter profits; solidifying its position behind Nokia.

Motorola may have gotten an early Christmas present from rival cell phone manufacturer, Samsung. The Korean manufacturer reported that its fourth quarter profits were lower than expected, hurt by the recent price war with Finnish rival Nokia. It had been slow to beef up its portfolio in time for the holiday shopping season, giving Motorola's newest phones an edge.
