Sprint today announced a partnership with MTV Networks to bring hit music, comedy and entertainment programming from CMT, MTV, VH1, and Comedy Central to Sprint TV. In addition to offering subscribers select clips, Sprint becomes the first domestic wireless service to stream the CMT, MTV and VH1 radio stations.

Today Sprint announced the results of its U.S. Consumer Wireless Usage Study, a nationwide survey of wireless phone users. The findings show that more than half of wireless phone subscribers (56 percent) rely on their mobile phones for features such as cameras, clocks, calendars, messaging, music and as a substitute flashlight for seeing in dark places.

Sprint Nextel today announced the details of its participation in the Federal Communications Commission's Katrina Lifeline Program. Through the program, eligible customers in the 92 Gulf Coast counties and parishes affected by Hurricane Katrina will be able to apply for a free wireless phone and service. Existing Sprint Nextel customers affected by the hurricane who qualify for the program will receive a credit of 500 minutes for four months from the date of activation.

Sprint and MSpot, a pioneer in premium mobile entertainment, today announced the premier of MSpot Movies, the first mobile entertainment service to stream full-length feature films to mobile phones. Available exclusively on the Nationwide Sprint PCS Network, MSpot Movies gives subscribers on-demand access to seven movie genres, including a wide range of titles that MSpot makes available in "chapters," short segments optimized for a mobile audience. In addition, MSpot Movies includes TV shows, music concerts and stand-up comedy specials.
