first things first, this phone looks slick right out of the box. no sooner did the guy take it out and slip the battery in than i knew it was the phone for me. those little blue lights on the side... oh man they look crispy in the dark.

the camera is nice, but if you're going to be using the camera as a main function... this might not be the phone for you. you can select different sizes, qualities, and contrasts but there's only a small range of lighting that you can get a good pic in. basically forget about getting a viewable pic in direct sunlight or a dimly lit room.

i had one problem with this handset only a week after i purchased it, an incoming call would appear and when i went to answer it, the interface locked up on me. had to remove the battery to reset... exchanged the phone and i haven't had a problem since.

overall the phone has been good to me, pretty intuitive as far as setting it up (despite the problems other reviewers have had) and easy to navigate. it's a little small for my preference and you get a distinct feeling that this phone is not suited for rough use. but if you're going the flip phone route you should be prepared for this anyways.

I totally disagree with Nokkey. Changing or deleting the greeting is not a problem, u just have to read the manual and I think every new electronic item's manual should be read before operating it.

I have CDM 8900 for more then a month and I love it. Perfect reception, not a single dropped call in my more then 1000 minutes of use, even with a single signal bar unlike all those motorolla and nokia phones.

LCD is beautiful, voice quality clear, many settings options, a nice camera, and above all tri-mode for best recepton any where. It doesn't have pre-loaded games but u can always download them for a very small amount. And after all its no xbox, nor its supposed to be. icon_smile.gif

What else do u need from a cell phone.

Ok, i dont even know where to start. I've had many phones in my life and im only 14. (About 10) i started with motorolas, and personally, i dont like them. They stutter and i don't like the setup. Then i went to this audiovox. AMAZING!!!! very clear screen, nice speakerphone (people could hear me even when i was riding my bike and it was cliped to my pants). It has a very detailed menu which i like. The only thing i didnt like was the camera. Well i liked it but it could have been clearer. Atleast its a lot clearer than the 8910 and the motorola n265 (they're crap). If you want a basic camera and no extra add on's to it....it's your perfect phone. Evetually i snapped it in half because a pile of books dropped on it when it was open. I then got an LGvx8000, then an LGvx8100. I'm not too impressed with LG. They kept breaking. Then i switched to an Audiovox cdm-8940 and i love it. Audiovox is just a very solid phone and always seems to work the same throughtout the whole time period in which you have it.

I purchased the CDM8900 and I guess its ok. I dont like a few things about it and those would be that it gets scratched very easy and I dont recieve calls sometimes. The camera isnt that great and the ringtones dont sound very clear. Aside from that its ok its small and fits in my small purses so i cant complain. icon_cool.gif

I think that the phone is pretty cool. Yeah the camera phone could be clearer but overall its a good phone. But i do agree with some of the other comments, if you need a durable phone then this would not be the phone for you, but im 14 so it works perfectly. It's small and easy to carry around, it gets good service almost anywhere, it can take pictures of you and your friends or whatever you decide to take pictures of lol, it has a speakerphone, and you can download ringtones or games or wallpapers onto your phone very easily. I did lose this phone and had to activate my moms old phone (CDM-9000) and it makes you realize you cant take your phone for granted! the CDM-9000 is nothing compared to this phone! I was extremely excited when i found my CDM-8900 again. icon_biggrin.gif

At first I had an LG VX4400...the only problem that I had with that phone was that it was too big. I heard good things about so...I decided to give it a try. I don't know what they were talking about
I regret choosing this phone. This phone sucks....period. The speakerphone is terrible. I can't hear anything on it. Then there's the camera phone, which is just as disappointing as the speakerphone, that sucks too. The pics are dark even in the sunlight.
So....I agree with the person that says that this phone is a fraud. Now if you like poor-quality phones...then this phone is perfect for you. If you don't.......then stay away!!!!!!!!!

icon_smile.gif I have used the CDM-8900 for several months. The key to receiving the best service is to read the well written owner's manual. The phone gives good communication service if the talkers or in the same town or across the country from each other. There are several really neat functions that none of my previous cell phones provided. The camera is simple to use and if you do not like the pictures simpley discard them. The camera works best in adequate light and at about 3 to 5 feet. The pictures can be saved in the camera to review later and can be used as a screen saver. The pictures can be sent to another cell phone or to a computer. This can all be programed into the camera. It does take a little time and patience. But it works. There are also things to down load like games, and ringtones. There is a phonebook to program, text messages that can be sent to & from a computer or cell phone, & web browsing. Also with a subscription the phone receives weather reports and sports scores. There are several accessories including a cable and data disk.

: icon_devil.gif I have purchased an Audiovox 8900. I love the phone but at the same time it sucks... The reason why is that it can not be returned or exchanged for something that does not have a default in it,,,, I can not manage to get my greeting on there or to not have it taken off.... I went to tell them about it and all they can tell me is that we're sorry for your inconvience but we can not do anything about it... You yourself have to go online and find out about the update and glitches.... All I can say is why didn't anyone tell me about the troubles it have....

All I can say is, this is, a good phone but it is all a misconception from the providers to the customers......

If you have any comments please respond.....

icon_sad.gif I have this phone...and I am soon getting rif of it. The Phone itself looks good and is very lightweight but can not handle any abuse...Every little knick and scratch shows. It says you can personize with screensavers and wallpapers but only if you take the picture yourself. You cannot download anything but games and ringers. The camera is the worst I've ever had and you almost never get a good resolution even in the best lighting. When you download ringers they seem really loud...that is untill you pay for them, then they seem to mute themselves. Overall I get good service only a few dropped calls but I paid for all the extras on this phone and can hardly use them. New Phone Here I Come! icon_biggrin.gif
