I have this phone but it's the only one I've had. Even so, I can compare it to friends phones to tell you its actually a very good phone. It's nice and small and the MP3 player works great. The SD card slot is fine the other guy musta taken the protective cover off of it or something. Also, MP3's definitely work on the miniSD, the guy above me must be doing something wrong. .wma will not work, only .mp3.

It does get very good connectivity. I wish there was a way to block text messages, and i wish caller id could be seen on the outside. Other than that, it's mighty fine.

Overall, I'd rate this phone as good - but not great. It has a lot of flaws. First of all, the speaker phone isn't even that loud. It sounds more like a phone with a really high volume than an actual speaker phone. The weird thing is, the ringer/music plays really loud- so you know the speakers have the ability to function at that volume. Also, you'd think with all the technology crammed into this phone that they'd make the caller-id with picture appear on the outside screen, but no - they didn't. Another problem is that the phone doesn't store individual call times - it does flash the length of the call when you immediately hang up, but then that info is gone. So you can't wake up in the morning and see how long you talked to someone the night before, you can only see what time you made the call. I got this phone in July and in the last month or so, keeping the sd card and cover in the phone has become a CHRONIC issue. It never stays in. I'm keeping the plastic one in there becuase I'm too afraid to lose a real one.

Pros: Looks Sleek, Good Quality Calls, User Friendly, Shows Time When Placing Calls, Good Ringer Sound, Camera Has Cover and Flips Out and it HAS A FLASHLIGHT!!

Cons: Just doesn't seem like they perfected this model yet...they come so close but yet so far..

Oh and every so often the phone won't end the call unless I actually turn it off. It's really strange. It makes this weird beeping noise and just stays on timing the call. I have turn the phone off and then on again - what a pain. As I said above...just doesn't seem like Audiovox has perfected this little guy yet - wait until their next version of same phone...

I picked up one of these phone 3 days ago and have to admit I liked it a lot for the first 15 hours or so. Easy to use, good signal strength, some nice features I hadn't seen before like being able to turn on the camera flash and use it as a flashlight. Very cool! It also had the ability to restrict usage of the camera, or view the call logs without a password. Not sure why that's important, but I thought it was a nice feature.

Didn't get a chance to try the built in mp3 player. You need a mini-SD chip and they aren't the easiest things to find. I saw them online for $30 for a 256mb chip, and the local Verizon selling store had the same one for $60.

Anyway, before I got a chance to pick up the chip, the phone quit working. It would dial a number, connect, but no voices could be heard by either me or the person on the other end. I decided to take it back and try a different model. I need something that will be dependable and having a phone that needs rare chips for music didn't seem to be a priority.

The problems other people have with this phone don't exist. Atleat not with the version sold now. Ths phone is great! I was interested in this phone for a long time and just decided to get it. I wasn't sure if I should stay safe with Motorola but nothing beats the friendly features of the Audiovox. This phone has to be my favorite and picks up a better signal than any other iv'e had (Motorola V60s, Lg6000, Motorla v265,Lg7000,Motorola v276) The size of the phone is amazing for all the action packed features. What phone has a flashlight? This one! At first I thought the flashlight was a bit much but it can be quite useful.:

icon_biggrin.gif Pros icon_biggrin.gif :

Vibrant color screens
Flashlight
Expensive look for it's affordable price
1.3 megapixel camera is protected by a sliding cover.
Decent Speakerphone
MINI SD Card Slot (Not Crippled!! As some would say)
V*Cast does't come in blurry like it does on the samsung and LG
Interesting Ringtones and display choices ( No Red Bar like every other new phone)
Incredible sounding Mp3 Player

Pull out antenna is flimsy but the quality of the calls doesn't even require you to pull it out.
I like the whole keep the camera safe idea but they put it in the worst spot, when i try to take a picture, by holding the phone normally i block the camera.
No outer lcd picture caller id

******************************************************
In the end, the phone is definately worth the money. It's one of the only 2 phones i haven't traded in in the 15 day policy. You will be very pleased with the quality.

I recently had the LG VX8000 and the LG VX8100...nice but not my favorites. I then got this Audiovox and i LOVE IT! the screen is extremely clear, as is the external one. One of my favorite things on the phone is how the camera is hidden, and then you open thlens cover/ door and pop out the camera.i found i like having my camera protected because i dont have to worry so much if i drop it. The camera is really clear and has many resolution settings. I wish it had more zooms icon_smile.gif . I also didnt like the theres no external picture caller id, whats the point of the external color screen then. That doesnt bother me too much. What i really love, is the MP3 player. I didn't think i would use it but i use it ALL THE TIME!. It's great! I also found that this phone has awesome service. It always has full bars of service. Along with that, comes the fantastic reception. It's crystal clear and not a call is dropped. The buttons are also very easy to press and are very large. They could be lighter, but if you have decent eyes your fine. The menu is also very easy to use and is very detailed. I don't have much else to say about this phone except that it's one of the best looking phones on the market right now, and it's also one of the smaller ones ( phones nowadays have been getting bigger again) icon_frown.gif . Overall, if you like a solid, simple, and full of features phone....get this NOW!!!!!

If I can save anyone from the hassle I've had to go through I will. I got this phone in December and in April the system fried itself so I was given a new one by Verizon. At that point I decided to buy a new memory card. It only works with certain memory cards. So you can only buy SanDisk mini SD cards. But don't even bother buying them because it will format the card but when you put MP3's on it they won't play. So just an FYI to not buy this phone for the MP3 feature, because I did and now I'm stuck with it.
