AT&T 8525 User Reviews

I have had the 8525 for about 4 months now. I have noticed a few things tho:

Pros:

It is touch screen! Awesome, love it, AND it comes with an extra stylus if you lose yours icon_smile.gif like I did. I love the Windows Media Player, and the 'note' feature. You can draw right on the screen and it will recognize it. It handled my battering it quite well. I have dropped it numerous times and my 2 year old smacks the screen with the stylus, and its held up really well to being dropped. I love the ability to program multiple email accounts into it. It has a decent camera, with LOTS of options. And in general is fun to play with.

Cons:

There is a glitch with the windows media player and the SD card slot. The WMP tends to 'forget' that you loaded your music into it. And you have to go into your files and delete the MSData file that it put on your SD card. Once done with that you have to reload all of your music into the library again. Kind of annoying, but hey, its worth it. I have found out that I have to 'push' for my emails, and I have a hard time recieving my MMS messages. I have to make sure that my internet stays open while sending/recieving otherwise it just puts it in the outbox with an x on it.

Above all that I have found out and learned about it, I really do love this phone, it has held up to my dropping it, and I really do love the touch screen and the full keyboard. The backlight is kinda nice too icon_smile.gif

I was really pleased to see that the 8525 holds up well when dropped. I will report back on the durability of the phone when thrown as far as I can throw it.

I've had this phone in my possession for about 1-year. I say "possession" simply because I have not been able to use most of the time. The phone was provided to me as an out-of-country (USA) business phone. It is without a doubt the most unusable, non-user friendly telephone that I've ever had and I've had numerous. I have a $50 cell, purchased out of country, which is 100% reliable, using the sim card foriegn technology. The local phone also cost 95% less when calling the USA. I have never been able to access any internet with the phone outside the USA. I have never been able to set-up and use the mailbox. I've tried, the company has tried (via telephone) as well as AT&T customer service.

To be fair though, the paperweight capability and alarm clock functions work well. The alarm not only goes off when it is supposed to, it also goes off when it pleases.generally an hour or so after I fall asleep. The 8525 may very well be an excellent phone within the continental USA. However, I'd suggest that once you leave the USA shores, that you replace with 2 tin cans and a string. Thanks for the format!
