Released for AT&T, the HP iPAQ Glisten features a large, AMOLED touch screen display for brighter, more vibrant colors and a full QWERTY keyboard for fast, accurate typing. The smartphone runs on Microsoft's new Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system for a redesigned Start Menu, improved Internet Explorer Mobile browser with Flash support and "My Phone" a service that synchronizes contacts, text messages, photos and data on the Internet, so consumers can edit or transfer files more easily. HP said the Glisten is for business users -- offering access to Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel with PowerPoint and PDF support. It also has an integrated inbox that summarizes recent emails, calls, and texts. In addition, "Voice Commander" -- a voice recognition software -- reads text messages, emails and appointment details. For fun, consumers can connect to social networking sites like Facebook, capture pictures with a built-in 3.1-megapixel camera and surf the Web on high-speed 3G Internet or through Wi-Fi.

Main Features

  • View email, Web pages and documents clearly from any angle on the AMOLED resistive touch screen display that offers vivid colors, true black and outdoor readability
  • Work longer and more easily with faster touch response time, a light sensor for display brightness control and better battery performance
  • Thin design and the jewel-like, soft-touch finish that doesn't show scratches
  • Write, text and browse quickly using the QWERTY keyboard, touch screen and balanced weight that maximizes space for comfortable grip and palm nesting
  • Work uninterrupted with simultaneous voice and data for multi-tasking and a proximity sensor for touch screen control while on a call
  • Easily listen to email, text messages and upcoming appointment details, plus start emails and text messages, schedule calls, dial contacts and start applications with Voice Commander
  • Enjoy clear conversations thanks to noise cancellation for improved call audio
  • Access hotspots with built-in Wi-Fi and dedicated on/off button
  • Get access to thousands of third-party applications as well as pre-loaded Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and calendar
  • Arrive on time using turn-by-turn directions with AT&T Navigator and built-in GPS
  • Take pictures with the 3.1-megapixel camera and manage them with HP Photosmart Mobile
  • Store pictures, video, music and other files on an optional microSD card (requires separate purchase)
