Kyocera 7135 water damage
Reviewer: djo01d on Fri Sep 02, 2005
My experience with this phone has not been good. I am a sales professional, and as such maintain my equipment with due respect. My Kyocera became disabled while I was off for a one week vacation. As it is a business only tool, the unit was left beside my computer, turned off, for the week. It had been functioning without issue up to that point. On my return I powered on my 7135. The PDA was working, however the phone was locked up. It was suggested to my by the Kyocera 800 line to send the unit for service. The reply was that due to abuse, my phone had experienced water damage to the main board.
Unless this unit is so poorley made that the humidity in the air somehow caused this damage, which I would still consider warrantable, I have simply been denied warranty coverage as a matter of policy.
This truly is my suspicion as I have come accross an identical story from a business owner who has shared my experience.

Kyocera 7135
Reviewer: lenwood on Tue Sep 13, 2005
I've been using this phone for over a year now, and I love it. I'm in a position where I am being pushed into a new model, and honestly I'm not sure I want to give it up.
When I first started using it, it required a reset and sometimes lost data. After a couple of hours of troubleshooting I discovered that this was caused by some of the software I was using on the phone (Avantgo). I removed the software, and have lost any data or reset in 4 months now.
All of the buttons are easy to distinguish and easy to press, even while driving (don't ask me how I know that).
The case is very sturdy. Mine has been dropped a couple of times, and the hinge still works perfectly, no cracks, and minimal scuffs.
After a year of use and close to 300 hours of talk time, I've never had another phone that I liked as much as this one. I only have two complaints.
1) the phone is large. I know its a PDA & phone in one, but still. I wish it were smaller.
2) the battery has never lasted for more than a day. I carry a charger with me everywhere I go.
