SE44 impressions

Reviewer: bsprinkle on Tue Jun 15, 2004

Our business just signed with Alltel's new Touch to Talk service using Kyrocrea's SE44 trimode slider series phones. First impressions have been good with a few gripes, mostly with the T2T buttons. The sound was "echoing" until we adjusted the volume down. The speakerphone works well and sounds are clear. Battery life seems nominal, allthough we are still in testing. The voice activated dial is great. When used with the speakerphone, this allows almost total handsfree operation on the road. My only gripe is the need to use your fingernail to avoid mispushed buttons. Altell's T2T button is on the front of the phone instead on the side like Nextel's. This makes for awkward handing when in two way mode.
As we learn more, I'll post my opinions

Kyocera SE44

Reviewer: almostnotquite on Thu Dec 16, 2004

icon_razz.gif Overall the phone is great. I have always used kyocera's and have been very pleased with the service of the phones.
The slider is compact and convenient, it has plenty of storage for numbers.
The speaker phone is clear and easy to use. The signal strength is exceptional, however it does hold on to roaming towers longer.
I would like to see lights in the send and end buttons this is kind of a guess game of what button you are pushing at night. Compared to the 2035 the voice dial doesn't recognize as well and is a little aggravating, but i guess i'll get over that.
Cases are hard to find to protect the screen.
Other than the above i love the phone.
