Not bad, but it is new, wait & see

Reviewer: przncop110 on Sat Feb 04, 2006

So far, not bad. This is my first LG. Usually use a Nokia but decided to go with the LG because it had the best features of the FREE phones offered by Cingular for upgrade. It is my second flip phone. The first was a Motorola that I HATED.

I like that I have not dropped any calls or lost network service yet. I live a ways out from town and ALL the Nokias I ever had lost the signal pretty regularly out here. Reception is clear, no dead spots or clipping.

I like the camera, actually, it is the first cam/phone for me so I guess I certainly am not an expert on it. To say I like it means that it simply works. As far as the quality, options, ect. I realy do not know much about the cameras.

I like the REAL music tones it can play. Every phone before has been mono or poly tone; which really sucks now that I have heard the music tones.

I do not like that I only have memory for 5 music tones. As posted before, the extras I deleted did not make room for more usic tones. Does anyone know if they can be saved on the SIM card or just the phones memory?? BTW, I have not opened the manual yet!!! icon_biggrin.gif

There are three things a phone must have for me. First it has to have good reception and NOT drop signal. DUH, it's a phone, so of course that is the most important feature for me. So far it has passed that test.

Second, it must be tough. I hate phones with external/extending antennas. I keep breaking them. I guess that is why I always used Nokias before, they offer several with internal antennas. Only time will tell if I break this one too.

Third thing not really a must have but is really nice. Real music tones. I hated the mono/poly crap that sounded like an out of tune piano. A lot of those mono/polys did not sound anything like what they claimed to be. This phone is great for the music tones, I wish I could fit more than five of them on it. But at $2.49 a pop, maybe five is not a bad idea!!! icon_w00t.gif

Overall I must say I am happy. I know there are tons of phones with better or more features available. Like I said, it was FREE!! So if you are upgrading from a bare bones phone then this is a good next step.

ok phone~poor bat life

Reviewer: penny1972 on Tue Nov 29, 2005

The 2000 is not near as good as the 1400. If you have the 1400, keep it!

*the good*...
it's small and easy to stuff in a pocket.
the blue lights on the keypad make it easy to use at night
VERY LOUD speakerphone.
VERY LOUD ringtones, but seems to get quieter the more I use it.
Clock on the outside, but no color other than the background, you will not get to see your pics on the outside.
You are able to change the contrast and pic size.
Faster than usual WAP
Charges the battery fast!

*the bad*
VERY poor battery life. I can send about 10 texts, take 5 pics and a 30 min. phone call and the battery will be half gone!
Pictures are a little grainy and when I sent them to my email for storage they look horrible!
Only 1 usable game comes on the phone! Tetris is on it, but only a 5 minute version!
Not very many preloaded ringtones.

This is the first camera phone I have had, so I am not an expert! I am however a HUGE fan of LG phones, but not of this one. Like I said at the start, if you have the 1400 keep it, it is 10x better than this one! I have ordered the Sony z520a and wish that I had got that one first!

good phone...low memory.

Reviewer: dirtysunshine on Sat Oct 01, 2005

This phone is pretty good. i just got it about a week ago. i'd give it a 7 out of 10.

pros:

good reception
its small and cute
the earpiece and speakerphone are loud so you can hear well
camera quality is very good, even when its kinda dark
menus are easy once u get used to them
it has a pretty good battery life

cons:

LOW MEMORY, i could only download 5 ringtones (even after deleting a bunch of ringtones i didnt like), and i could only take about 10 pictures! i was very dissapointed with that.
you cant change the backround on the outside screen (but that didnt really bother me)

overall i LOVE the phone. but im sending it back. 5 ringtones and 10 pictures isnt nearly enough for me. but if you dont mind the low memory problem, then this is a great phone.

im getting the new nokia 6102.
ill leave a review about that one when i get it.

My LG C2000 was a "Lemon".

Reviewer: cadowers on Fri Aug 25, 2006

I have had several cell phones over the years and I must say the LG C2000 was my worst experience with a cell phone. I only kept it for 30 days. I kept losing sync with the cell tower at least twice a day. I would go to make a call and I would receive a Service not available error. Then I would have to shut it off and turn it back on to resync. The last event was the camera display went bad. All within a month. icon_devil.gif I returned it for another brand.

LG C2000

Reviewer: steelemperor on Fri Nov 18, 2005

This is so far a great cell phone...And to the person that wrote the comments in the last review...there is a manual that comes with the phone, and when read will allow you to use this phone to it's full potential...I realize that reading is difficult when there are so many cool things to play with on the phone, but it really it very easy to figure out with the help of the manual...

So if anyone is looking for a good phone, this is it...Rated 9.5 out of 10.

Decent Phone but has Some annoying problems

Reviewer: xoxosassyzxoxo on Mon Aug 28, 2006

First off this was my first LG phone, so I was pretty excited to see what kind of phones LG puts out. When i first got this phone i was very please with how many ways you can take a picture and the self mirror and speaker phone. However after a while the phone would randomly not let me read my text messages or loose service and random places that i clearly should have service in like outside, and when this would happen it would cause me to have to turn off and turn back on my phone. Even at times i wouldnt be able ot add a contact into my sim card and no it wasnt filled. The phone would tell me it failed. I was not pleased with that. Other times the phone would not let me make a call and said the call had ended and i never even heard a ring or pressed the end key. Also the phone does let you have a picture id for people calling but its faily useless if you cant see it on the external screen which not to mention has the same cloud background that you cant change. I dont like the web browse being the O.K button but other then that its a decent phone would i recommend it? No but i guess it does the job..but still your better off getting a phone that doesnt have random problems like this one.

LG C2000

Reviewer: kcjules on Sun Sep 25, 2005

I just bought this phone a week ago and already want to return it. I've been a Motorola user for 2 years now and the LG is just very confusing for me.

The menus are different and the battery life sucks. I've had to charge it 3 times now in one week. I barely even talked on it.

PROS:

~ Nice design
~ Decent camera

CONS:

~ Short battery life
~ Menus are hard to navigate
~ Can't have vibe+ring without the volume being extremely high

Overall, I would not recommend this new phone icon_mad.gif

Freezing phone, ok for beginners

Reviewer: pqueenrose on Thu Jun 29, 2006

i've had this phone for 4 months. two moths in, i had to switch it because it was acting up. i am having to switch it again because it keeps freezing and cutting me off while making a call. DO NOT GET this phone if you have had anything else before. it has no syncing software avaliable for the pictures and wastes money if you buy extras. horrible phone. ok for someone just getting their first cell phone. icon_confused.gif

Do not likey

Reviewer: TATE on Sun Feb 18, 2007

Do not like my LG C2000. Do not recommend it at all. Have had problems from the get go.talked to Cingular rep in the mall. They confirmed that others have had issues with this type of phone also. It was beyond my "30 days" so they referred me to the Warranty division of Cingular. Called them, the lady said she would be happy to send me a new LG C2000 replacement phone. I said I wasn't happy with it, wanted something else that maybe.I dunno.worked. She said she had received zero complaints and the rules are if you have issues with a phone, you will get a replacement of the same type as long as that type of phone is in stock! icon_mad.gif Sooooo, just fyi. If you have an opportunity to get this phone, DON'T.

Some problems with it:
1) It shows you have 4 bars, but you cannot place a call.
2) You sent a text message, the receiver gets 4 messages that are blank and not the one you sent. OR the receiver does get your text msg, and one or more just like it that you only sent once
3) You set the alarm and it will go off, but with NO SOUND (random, this just started happening to me
4) You have your phone on, someone calls you, but it goes straight to voicemail for them. Frustrating.because shortly thereafter it shows you have a missed call and you were not even on your phone!

OK PHONE

Reviewer: cellfreaak991 on Sat Aug 04, 2007

well i've had this phone for almost 2 years and I have to say it is a pretty ok phone not the best. first let me start off by saying the reception is outstanding it beats my sister moto v220 by a long shot in places where I have 5 bars she only has 2. not the best phones I heard. but back to the lg2000 the camera is descent, loud speaker phone, call quality is ok, it's a little light even though it looks heavy. love the yahoo messenger feature, I hate that u can only have 5 ringtones that sucks icon_sad.gif . But overall I will rate this phone from a scale of 1-10 a 8.
