I've had my ENV2 for a few months (a world record for me) and loved it, so I was very excited about the release of the ENV3. I just got back from the Verizon Wireless store so I haven't had much time to mess around with the phone. The VZW rep told me the enV Touch is coming out next week, but if you don't care about the touch screen and love your env2, by all means get it! Let's get started:
The front of the phone immediately reminded me of the old SLVR L7 phone from years ago. LG has rounded out the phone and made it look less like a pocket calculator. The two way direction key has been updated to a four way direction key with OK being in the middle. The screen was made larger and you can do much more with it. The four way key has predefined shortcuts: Up is Music, Left is My Pictures (you can easily assign an external wallpaper using this), Right is Bluetooth, and Down is Messaging. I'm not sure if you can change these shortcuts or not. The music key from the env2 has been replaced with a Contacts key for quick access to your contacts.
Now we'll move to the inside of the phone and there's quite a lot of improvements here. The screen is a bit bigger and they've changed the appearance of the stereo speakers as well. The keyboard has had a complete revamp. The first feature is the favorites key which looks like a person with a star next to him. You can assign up to ten favorites from your contacts. Directly under that is the dedicated messaging key. Pressing this instantly opens up a new text message OR what you can do is scroll through your contacts, highlight one, and hit the messaging button to open a new text message to that person. Probably one of the BEST improvement is the space bar in the middle of the keyboard. I know that was something that many people didn't like so I'm glad to see it's been changed. Also, the back-lighting on the Favorites, Messaging, Shift, Sym, and Space keys glows blue instead of orange.
The phone's menu system is one we've all seen before on Verizon phones, but some changes have been made to that as well. Backup Assistant has been pre-installed on this phone and is now located in the Contacts menu. Verizon offers four themes for the internal display and two themes for the external display as well as some really nice wallpapers. Unfortunately, you get the same old LG ring tones.
Now, the main reason everyone buys this phone.the MESSAGING! I found typing on this phone an absolute breeze. The keys seem less rigid than they were on the env2. You have the ability to sort Messages by Time or Contact and there's also an instant reply feature. As soon as someone sends you a message, all you have to do is start typing your reply. You can turn this feature off if you want to. I wish that capitalizing a letter was as easy as it is on a Blackberry though. Also, why is the first letter of a new sentence not capitalized on this phone?
Lastly, we have the camera. It's a 3.0MP shooter with a flash. I took random pictures of objects around the house with the flash on and off and the pictures came out decent enough, but I wouldn't want to record my summer vacation with it. The camera in the enV touch is said to be much, much better so I would hold out for that if a camera is a major factor for you.
So that's my review. I apologize if it's not very thorough but I have somewhere to be and I just thought I would type up something quick for anyone interested in this phone. The phone comes in two colors, Slate Blue and and Maroon. Full retail of this phone will run you $317.99.

what lg evn3 doesn't want you to do, I called them and they only want you to use the provided apps and settings, you cannot change the settings and folders to the way you want.
Also you cannot view your sd card via thru your lg env3 and you cannot import anything from it. you can only use the my_pix my_music my_media.
you cannot import games via sd card or pictures or video's, Verizon wants you to use vcast and or their downloads via web which restricts you from adding your own content.
Sorry, you can however plug in your cord to the pc and open copy and paste your pics, vids, and music.
What I've found out in two days is that Vcast works ok for adding your music. (no sign up involved).
all I know is check out the reviews for your own opinion

Just got the LG Env3 (aka VX9200), HOWEVER, bitpim does not provide functionality for it. It finds the device as an "Other CDMA phone" but the GET and SEND DATA options are grayed out. Verizon offers to transfer the address book at no charge, however I'm want up/download capability on the images and ringtones! Anyone have any workarounds or know when bitpim will get around to providing Env3 drivers/functionality?
